Duration FLEX™ shingles at the International Roofing
Expo, Feb. 11-13, in Nashville, Tenn. Duration FLEX™ shingles are
engineered to deliver enhanced flexibility and superior performance in
harsh weather conditions, compared with standard shingles.
Featuring SureNail® Technology, TruDefinition® Duration FLEX™
shingles are made with a proprietary blend of SBS polymer modified
asphalt and offer the highest impact rating available: UL 2218 Class 4.
Owens Corning Roofing’s Duration FLEX™ shingles were designed with a
focus on key performance metrics. Duration FLEX™ shingles
offer 42% better nail pull-resistance against wind compared with
standard shingles. Built-in flexibility helps Duration FLEX™ shingles
resist cracks and tears in all-weather installation conditions –
offering more than 10% stronger tear strength compared with traditional
shingles.
Duration FLEX™ shingles are also manufactured for efficient installation
and are formulated to lay flat more quickly than standard shingles for a
clean, finished look. The rubber-like flexibility that helps the shingle
withstand expansion and contraction stresses, also helps minimize loss
of granules and protects the shingle against UV rays.
